Custom Desktop Applications
Powerful software. Yours to own.
Some workflows demand the power, performance, and security of a native desktop application. Internal tooling that handles sensitive data. Data management platforms that need to process millions of records locally. Client-facing products where offline capability is non-negotiable. We build custom desktop applications for Windows and macOS that are fast, secure, and built to last ; with the option to embed local AI capabilities that run entirely offline.

Modern Frameworks. Native Performance.
We build with Tauri 2.0 as our default framework ; a Rust-based desktop application framework that produces tiny, secure, lightning-fast binaries with a web-based UI layer. For use cases requiring the absolute maximum in native integration or performance, we also build with Electron, Swift on macOS, or .NET/WPF on Windows. The right tool for the right job.
Tauri 2.0 (Rust backend + React/TypeScript frontend) ; our default for most projects
Electron ; when the largest third-party ecosystem is needed
Swift + AppKit/SwiftUI for macOS-only applications requiring deep Apple API integration
.NET MAUI or WPF for Windows-only enterprise applications
Local SQLite, LevelDB, or custom file-based storage
Secure keychain and credential storage integration
AI That Works Without the Internet.
One of the most powerful advantages of desktop applications is the ability to run AI models entirely locally ; no API calls, no data leaving the machine, no latency from network round trips. We embed local LLMs (via llama.cpp, Ollama, or custom inference runtimes), vision models, and NLP pipelines directly into your desktop application. Your users get AI-powered features with full privacy and offline capability.
Local LLM integration via llama.cpp, Ollama, or custom inference engines
Automatic hardware acceleration detection (Apple Silicon, NVIDIA, AMD)
On-device vision AI: OCR, object detection, document parsing
Semantic search over local document collections
AI-powered features that work completely offline
Optional sync with server-side LLM for more powerful workloads
Built for Enterprise Deployment.
Enterprise desktop applications have requirements that consumer apps do not ; centralised deployment, SSO integration, audit logging, licence management, and IT policy compliance. We build these into the application from day one, not as an afterthought.
MSI/MSIX installer for Windows group policy deployment
PKG/DMG with notarisation and hardened runtime for macOS enterprise
SAML 2.0 and LDAP/Active Directory SSO integration
Centralised configuration management
Full audit logging for compliance
Licence management and seat tracking
Auto-update infrastructure with staged rollouts
Questions from Professionals Like You
- Web apps are the right choice for most use cases. Desktop is the right choice when you need: offline capability with complex local data processing, access to native OS APIs (file system, hardware, OS integrations), performance-intensive workloads, embedded local AI, or security requirements that prevent cloud data storage.
- Tauri uses the operating system's native web renderer (WebKit on macOS, WebView2 on Windows) rather than bundling Chromium, resulting in applications that are 10-20x smaller, use significantly less memory, and start much faster than Electron apps. The Rust backend is also memory-safe and extremely performant.
- Often yes. If your web app is built with React, Vue, or similar frameworks, we can wrap it in Tauri or Electron relatively efficiently and add native desktop capabilities on top. The degree of refactoring required depends on how web-centric the current architecture is.
Some workflows need software you own, not software you rent.
If your team's most critical processes are running on duct-taped spreadsheets or generic SaaS tools, the real cost is in lost productivity and competitive disadvantage. Let's build the right tool for the job. Book a call and we'll scope what a custom desktop app would mean for your operations.
